In case you may have missed it, Scott Turner has been nominated for Secretary of HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). Multifamily Dive noted how industry leaders are applauding the nomination of Scott Turner for Secretary of HUD. This is seen as a “boost for Opportunity Zones” since Turner not only helped establish Opportunity Zones, but his nomination “also places one of the most experienced OZ advocates in a position of real influence” according to the article.
There has been a lot of positive momentum regarding the future of Opportunity Zones. We couldn’t be more excited as our BTR OZ Fund is moving forward with three projects in markets that Multi-Housing News called “hotspots” for growth.

The overall 2025 outlook for the BTR sector remains positive, due to the increasing demand for high-quality rental housing. This positive outlook for the BTR sector, combined with the possible extension of the OZ program, potentially make this an opportune time for investors.
