Rep. Mike Kelly led a historic field hearing in Erie, PA, highlighting the success of Opportunity Zone legislation. The initiative has revitalized downtown Erie, creating over $400 million in long-term investments and transforming one of the poorest ZIP codes. The hearing emphasized the need to expand and enhance Opportunity Zones before the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act provisions expire in 2025. Kelly introduced legislation to increase transparency, extend investment windows, and drive more investments into high-impact projects in low-income communities.
